Chubby mother earth
     Has more rolls
Than I know what to do

I decide to crisscross her body
     And with a determined snowplow
          I corset her in

Braver, I become
      Knees bent, ski poles tucked
      under my baby bird wings
           I try for flight

Pride before the fall
     Has me believing
          I look like ski patrol
