We had two correct answers to last month’s What Is It contest. Congratulations to Carolyn Kundel of Roland, Iowa and Vicky Kellen of Castle Pines, Colorado. You have won a year’s subscription to the Mountain States Collector. Vicky Kellen writes, “I have not entered your contest for quite a while, and the times that I did enter, I felt certain that I knew the object being described. But, here’s a shot in the dark. I believe that this blue glass oject shaped like a chair/throne with a regal animnal on top is an inkwell. Just a thought.” And a good one, too.
This inkwell has a cat on the seat cushion which makes up the lid. The body of the chair is the well in this pressed-glass piece. It is rare to find an inkwell with a separate glass cover that is in tact.
